Youth Party (our political party)

For the past few weeks, during social studies, we were split into groups to form a political party. As you can tell by the title our group is called the Youth Party. I found it really easy to work with this group and I was quite comfortable with the people in my group. The only thing I found hard was when presenting to the class because I don't really like presenting to large crowds.

The House Of Representatives

The NZ Government is called a democracy because the people of New Zealand who are over the age of 18 use electorates during election voting to elect the electorate MP’s who win a seat in the House of representatives. This happens every 3 years as the elections only happen every 3 years.

Lockdown 2.0

During lockdown 2.0 I had some time so I began cleaning my room. It was quite messy because before it was my room it was a storage/closet for me and my sister, so that was one thing I did during the lockdown. I also joined most of my classes and did some school work. If I'm being honest I wasn't listening and was mostly there to be marked present. I ate like a ton load of chocolate and ice cream despite it being winter. Also, it was the first time in lockdown with my doggo. It was quite normal almost like the holidays, except I wasn't allowed to take him for walks. It was raining quite a lot so I hardly went outside. Oh and I also gave myself bangs/fringe. I wasn't actually allowed to cut my hair but I was really bored so I couldn't hold myself back.

Leadership Qualities

Someone who I think has the Qualities of a leader is my mum. I choose my mum because is very open-minded when it comes to her kids and makes sure we are all treated equally. Another quality my mother has is Trustworthiness. I would trust my mother with all my secrets because I know she would only tell them if she really needed to. My mother always motivates me to do my best and is very encouraging. My mother is a good influence on me and shows me all the possibilities of what I could do with my life. My mother is very optimistic and almost always has a positive attitude. She inspires me to do the best with my self and tells me not to let discouraging words put me down. My mother is very cooperative and takes responsibility for her actions.

Black Lives Matter - March in Auckland

Here is my short paragraph of my opinion about the march that happened in Auckland last Saturday:
In pictures: The Black Lives Matter solidarity march, Auckland ...
I think that the people who went protesting were somewhat in the right but should
not have breached the guidelines of exceeding more than 100 people. They had
put their lives and others lives at risk as well. I believe that yes we should
support the #BlackLivesMatter protest but we also have to keep in mind that we
are too social-distance to help prevent this virus. So i’d say i’m half and half
because while trying to prevent something else from happening they put
themselves and others in danger of catching the virus.

My learning journey

Tamaki College Careers - Home | FacebookAs a year 9 student at Tamaki my journey here has just begun. My grades are doing well and I'm doing
fine during class. I may get distracted here and there but I always find a way to finish my work. As a
year 9 i’d say i'm not proud of learning my times tables during primary, but i’d say im improving. I
socialize a lot more with my classmates, which makes it comfortable to work in class. While in l
lockdown I tried my best to go to classes and do the set tasks because I knew that they would help with
my learning. During classes we sometimes get treats which is like a gift from the teacher to thank us
for working hard. Everyday I prepare myself to learn by showing up to school on time and doing
homework or work that I haven’t finished. When I finish my journey at Tamaki I wish to have good
grades and a good reputation as I prepare myself for the next chapter in my life.

Blog : Life after Lockdown in Level 2 :

One thing I know for sure that I'm looking forward to is going shopping again. I really missed shopping because I like shopping for clothes. I also look forward to seeing my friends because these past few weeks have been a little lonely. But I have mixed feelings about school. The reason being is because it's really easy to do school online like I can just wake up and go to school and no one would have to know. But it is harder to ask the teachers questions because the question may not make sense and its hard to explain. So I think going into lockdown would be a good thing for me, and my grades.

Social Studies: Current Events COVID-19

So from this news article, I've learnt that Counties Manukau has been given the most
warnings and most youth referrals, but Canterbury has the most prosecution. But yes
Manukau has been seen as the worst offenders for alert level 3. The story talks about
how people have been breaching the guidelines.

I feel that since I am used to staying at home, I don't really feel like going back to
school. I also feel that since the weather has become colder I feel like working in my
bed. But I have a problem, I always get distracted which is really bad for my education.
I am also sick of staying at home all the time and the only time I usually walk is to and
from school. So yeah I have mixed feeling about going into alert level 2.
